Edmonton officials are reminding golfers to take one last swing as city courses are set to close for the season next week.. The city operates three golf courses – Riverside, Rundle Park and Victoria – that will close on Tuesday, making Monday the last day to tee off. The Victoria Driving Range will remain open for as long as the weather permits, according to the city. “We are glad our municipal golf courses are a place to gather during our warm weather months,” municipal golf courses supervisor Michael Duerr said in a statement on Wednesday. “As the season draws to a close, our staff will be hard at work preparing the greens for winter to ensure our courses are safe and fun for Edmontonians next year.” Don Walchuk was hitting the green with some friends at the Victoria Golf Course on Wednesday, saying he has been enjoying the mild weather. “Summers are too short here, but there’s been other years where we’ve been able to golf up until this time,” Walchuk said. “Just looking forward to the last few rounds.” The weather for this weekend is forecasted to be a mixture of rain and possible snow showers. The daytime highs are expected to drop to single digits starting on Sunday and into early next week. Tee times can be booked online at edmonton.ca/golf.
