Edmonton’s Sourdough Raft Race cancelled due to recent rain

This year’s Sourdough Raft Race scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled.

Organizers cited “unprecedented amounts of summer rainfall” for the cancellation.

“Unfortunately the risk of significant damage to city park turf is too great,” the Sourdough Raft Race website reads.

Next year’s event is scheduled for Aug. 22.
