The Edmonton Oilers are returning to West Edmonton Mall (WEM) to sign autographs later this month. The full team roster will be set up at various spots in the mall to sign personal items brought by fans or team-issued cards. “We are excited to once again partner with WEM to bring fans an exciting opportunity to meet their favourite players at the Edmonton Oilers Autograph Session,” Stew MacDonald, president and chief revenue officer with OEG Sports & Entertainment said in a news release Thursday morning. “Our players always look forward to connecting with the incredible fans who cheer them on year after year,” he added. The first 300 fans in line for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will be guaranteed an autograph. At McDavid’s table, fans will only be able to have a custom Upper Deck card autographed, which will be provided. Fans will also be limited to one autograph per player because of demand. “As one of our most eagerly anticipated events of the year, it is a truly unique opportunity for fans to meet all their favourite players in person,” said the mall’s general manager and executive VP of tourism, Danielle Woo. “The energy in Oil Country is stronger than ever, and this is guaranteed to be a fun-filled, unforgettable day for Oilers fans,” she said. The event is free, happening on Nov. 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A map of player locations will be released 24 hours before it starts.
