Six people are facing charges in connection with a drug trafficking investigation with ties to Edmonton and Maskwacis. The investigation began in June, said RCMP in Maskwacis. Six people in Edmonton were identified over four months aspart of a drug trafficking network that was operating in multiple communities in the Edmonton area. On Sept. 11, a search warrant was executed and people were arrested at multiple locations. The following items were seized: Six people from Edmonton and Enoch are facing a variety of charges including drug trafficking, possession of drugs, and possession of property obtained by crime. All six of the accused have been released from custody and will appear in court in Edmonton on Jan. 13.
