An 18-year-old man is in critical but stable condition after a serious collision on Anthony Henday Drive early Friday morning. Police received reports just after 2:40 a.m. that a white Mitsubishi Lancer driving eastbound on Anthony Henday Drive had hit the pillars of the 184 Street overpass The car caught fire after the crash. A road maintenance worker discovered the crash and used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, police said. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services were able to pull the man out of the car. The 18-year-old was transported by EMS to hospital with life-threatening injuries. EPS says he remains in critical but stable condition as of Friday afternoon. Police are asking any witnesses, or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the area from between 2:30 a.m. and 2:50 a.m. on Oct. 31, to contact them via phone or by calling 311.
