4 accused of trafficking drugs in several Alta., Sask. communities

Four people face charges after a year-long investigation into a drug trafficking network between Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The group is accused of trafficking in Edmonton, Lloydminster, and Cold Lake in Alberta, and Maidstone, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Spiritwood, Cumberland House, Saskatoon, Creighton, and Holbein in Saskatchewan.

Authorities seized about $225,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl, two illegal handguns and ammunition.

The firearms will be analyzed to determine if they were used in other criminal offences.

Together, the four people face 48 charges.

The accused are a 31-year-old Edmonton resident, a 26-year-old Spruce Grove, Alta., resident, a 22-year-old Cold Lake resident, and a 19-year-old Cumberland House resident.
