RESOLUTE, Nunavut - Clean-up is underway on the site of the Arctic plane crash that killed 12 people.

First Air is removing the wreckage of its chartered 737 that crashed into a hill while landing at the Resolute airport two weeks ago.

Three people, including a seven-year-old girl, survived the crash.

Besides passengers and crew, the jet was also carrying 2,250 kilograms of food that has been rotting and attracting polar bears to the area.

RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board required the site remain undisturbed while they combed through debris as part of an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.

Board investigators are returning to Ottawa to continue their investigation in the lab.
