FREDERICTON -- A new report says tuition fees at Maritime universities have gone up by three per cent on average.

The Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission says the fees for undergraduate arts and sciences programs range between $5,520 and $7,488 this fall.

The commission says by comparison, inflation stood at 2.4 per cent in June.

Other costs, like student association, health services and athletic fees, have also risen an average of six per cent.

In the Maritimes, those mandatory fees range between $255 and $1,173.
