Hamilton police working on the Tim Bosma murder investigation say a third man was contacted to test drive a used pickup truck listed for private sale.

Det. Sgt. Matt Kavanagh told CP24 that a man in the Toronto area received a phone call on May 5 from the same cell phone that was used to contact Bosma and another Toronto man, who had both advertised their pickup trucks for sale online.

He said the third man slept through the call, so a test drive could not be arranged. The man had listed his truck for sale online on Kijiji and Autotrader. He has been interviewed by police.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of Bosma and police are still seeking a third. The third suspect has not been identified.

The 32-year-old father from Ancaster, Ont., disappeared after taking two strangers for a test drive of his pickup truck on May 6. His charred remains were later found near Waterloo, Ont.

Dellen Millard, 27, and Mark Smich, 25, have both been charged with first-degree murder.

Police also confirmed a Toronto Star report that investigators are looking into why Millard transferred a number of properties to his mother in the days following his arrest.

On Tuesday police confirmed that Millard was “romantically linked” to a Toronto woman who went missing almost a year ago.

Last week, a farm owned by Millard near Ayr, Ont., was searched by police in connection with the disappearance of Laura Babcock, as well as the apparent suicide of Millard’s father, Wayne Millard.

Babcock went missing last July and phone records show she had contact with Millard on July 3, 2012.

Toronto police Det. Mike Carbone said Tuesday that no new evidence was found related to Babcock’s disappearance.

Police said Babcock is still considered a missing person. She is described as white, 135-140 lbs with long brown hair, but has been known to dye her hair blonde. Babcock is deaf in her left ear and has a belly-button piercing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-2280 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
