VANCOUVER -- A sample of freedom-of-information requests to the B.C. government in the past year for which no records could be located:
-- Copies of the premier's speaking notes between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30, 2013. The provincial government website lists at least five speeches during those three months, complete with the text of those speeches.
-- The premier's daily itineraries and agendas, as well as travel expense reports, in a time period that included a trip to Calgary last fall.
-- All emails sent by journalists to the premier's communication staff between April 1 and June 1 of last year. That time period included a provincial election and the premier's subsequent announcement of her new cabinet.
-- Memos, briefing and other documents prepared for the premier regarding BC Hydro's proposed rate increase. The premier spoke extensively about the issue last September, publicly ruling out approving the proposed rate change.
-- An update on an investigation into the premier's former chief of staff, Ken Boessenkool, who resigned in September 2012 following what the premier described as a two-week investigation into an alleged "incident of concern." A previous freedom-of-information request about the same issue, which also came back empty, prompted an investigation by the province's information commissioner that concluded the government was avoiding keeping records.
