The husband of Julie Paskall, who was found beaten to death Dec. 29 in Surrey, B.C., has issued a public plea for the perpetrator to come forward.

“Is society that callous that we can beat someone senseless for a few dollars?” said Al Paskall.

Paskall was waiting outside a hockey arena in Newton where her 16-year-old son was playing a game when she was attacked.

“She was the greatest mom and wife a person could ever have,” Al Paskall said.

He told CTV B.C. that Paskall would devote all her time and money to their three children – she also leaves behind two daughters.

Police believe Paskall was killed in a robbery gone wrong. The beating was so vicious, every bone in her face was broken.

“If you had seen what she looked like, when she was in the hospital, you’d be shaking your head,” her husband said.

“It was beyond belief.”

A trust fund has been set up for the family. Vancity Credit Union branches are accepting donations marked for “Paskall Family Trust."
