HALIFAX - The federal veterans affairs minister wants the quality of food served at a Halifax veterans hospital reviewed following complaints from some residents.
A spokesman for Steven Blaney says the minister has instructed hospital officials to appoint an external dietitian to review food quality at Camp Hill Hospital.
The move comes following meetings with federal and hospital officials on Friday and Monday.
Some elderly veterans at the hospital have said that they wanted someone to take a closer look at a menu they complained was bland, hard to eat and low on nutritional value.
The hospital, which is part of the QEII Health Sciences Centre, has a central kitchen that prepares meals for more than 1,000 patients and residents at seven facilities in the city.
