BRAMPTON, Ont. - Police say a man from Brampton, Ont., has been accused of stealing a heart rate monitor worth more than $7,000 from a local hospital.
Peel regional police allege the 38-year-old stole the device from the Brampton Civic Hospital on Nov. 14.
He was arrested on Friday and charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
Police say they believe there may be more thefts linked to the same suspect, and they're asking anyone with information to come forward.
They're also urging the public to be careful when using online buy-and-sell websites, particularly if a deal appears too good to be true.
They say the suspect had been trying to sell the heart rate monitor online.
