CANMORE, Alta. -- A conservation group says a woman has been attacked by a bear in the Canmore area west of Calgary.
Wildsmart says the woman was walking with her dog in an area near the Canmore reservoir Monday evening when she encountered the bear.
She was treated in hospital for her injuries and released.
Wildsmart says it isn't clear if the woman was attacked by a black bear or a grizzly.
The group says the woman was in an area that had been closed due to bears feeding on berries.
Alberta wildlife officers are investigating.
