KENTVILLE, N.S. -- The lawyer for a Nova Scotia man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted two women earlier this year says his client is not opposed to being declared a dangerous offender.
Lawyer Ken Greer says Gordon Frank Nickerson of Yarmouth wants to get on with the legal process and learn from his mistakes.
The 35-year-old Nickerson appeared calm and remained silent during a brief court appearance in Kentville yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to about a dozen charges in April, including kidnapping and sexual assault, assault and dangerous driving.
The Crown has applied to have Nickerson declared a dangerous offender, which means he could be sent to prison for an indefinite period.
Nickerson was arrested in February after police responded to a report that two women were missing from the Wedgeport area.
The women were later found at the scene of a three-vehicle collision in New Minas.
Nickerson is due back in court August 1st.
