More than 840 grams of drugs were seized in a traffic stop in northeast Calgary last week, police say. Ammunition and cash were also seized in the stop, according to police, and two young suspects were arrested in connection with all of it. Police say they pulled over an 18-year-old and 17-year-old shortly before 5:30 p.m. on July 1, near 68 Street and McKnight Boulevard N.E. Police say they did so “after determining (the vehicle’s) registered owner was wanted on Traffic Safety Act offences.” “Although the registered owner was later confirmed not to be one of the vehicle’s occupants, officers located a significant quantity of drugs concealed in several hidden compartments and storage areas,” police said in a release on Monday. Police seized the following: The 18-year-old is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The 17-year-old is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failure to comply with a sentence or disposition. The former was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, while the latter is set to appear on July 17. Investigation continues.
