Wolves frequenting Banff campground, showing ‘bold behaviour’: Parks Canada

Parks Canada has issued a warning for a campground in Banff National Park, saying wolves are frequenting the area.

The warning for Two Jack Lakeside was issued on Sept. 8, and will remain in place until further notice.

Parks Canada says the wolves have shown “bold behaviour” and are advising people to use caution when travelling or camping in the area.

It’s suggested visitors to the area remember to:

• Never approach, entice or feed wildlife;
• Ensure all food, garbage and pet food is stored inside a building or vehicle;
• Supervise children and keep pets on a leash at all times; and,
• Carry bear spray and know how to use it.

If you are approached by a wolf, officials suggest acting aggressively to discourage it from approaching.
