Construction is set to begin along Highway 1 in Medicine Hat, and police are advising motorists to expect slowdowns as a result. The project will run from 1 Street S.W. to Box Springs Road N.W., including the South Saskatchewan River bridge, from July 13 to Aug. 23. The project will be worked on between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Medicine Hat Police Service said motorists “should expect intermittent lane restrictions and temporary speed reductions where required.” Police said areas “already posted at 80 km/h will remain at 80 km/h.” Police reminded drivers to: The project will replace existing streetlights with new lighting systems.
