A group of 450 runners participated in the run for L’Arche Saturday. L’Arche Calgary supports people with intellectual disabilities through five family-style homes. Their day programs and supported independent living program provide people a place to belong and be valued. The overall aim is to create meaningful connections. The run is the organization’s biggest fundraising event of the year. “This year alone, we are hoping to fundraise over $60,000,” said L’Arche executive director Ani Hynes. “It might be one of the highest number of money that we fundraised in one event alone.” “It’s inspiring,” she added. “We feel very honoured.
