Roughnecks firing on all cylinders as they demolish Desert Dogs at Dome 21-8

The Calgary Roughnecks took on the Las Vegas Desert Dogs Sunday night at the Saddledome.

The Roughnecks got right Sunday night at the Saddledome as they dominated the Las Vega Desert dogs 21-8.

Calgary came out firing and built a formidable 10-3 lead by halftime, getting goals from Haiden Dickson (three), Justin Inacio, Brayden Mayea, Jesse King (twice), Curtis Dickson and two more from Dane Dobbie.

Jack Hannah scored all three for the Desert Dogs.

Dobbie scored three more in the third quarter, while Tyler Pace added another to make it 14-5 heading into the fourth.

That’s when the Roughnecks erupted for seven more, getting two more from Haiden Dickson, and singles from Jesse King, Tanner Cook, Brayden Mayea, Dane Dobbie and Tyler Pace, while Vegas tallied three to make the final score 21-8.

Pace led the club with 11 points, on two goals and nine assists., while Dobbie chipped in with six goals and four assists, and King contributed a hat trick and seven assists.

Cam Macleod stopped 30 shots to get the win. Calgary outshot Las Vegas 51-43.

Next up for the Roughnecks is a Saturday night clash at the Dome against the Rochester Knighthawks. Game time is 7 p.m.
