Alberta Health Services (AHS) has learned of another measles case in the Taber area. AHS is warning of two locations where people could have been exposed, including one in Lethbridge. The infected person was at the Colosseum Laser Tag Centre in Lethbridge on March 22. The exposure time was approximately 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The second exposure spot was the Coulee Medical Centre in Taber on March 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone at those locations at those times with less than two doses of a measles vaccine is at risk of developing measles. The Taber case is one of two new confirmed measles cases in Alberta. The other is in Calgary. This brings the total confirmed measles cases in the province to 23, and all but one are children. Health experts say immunization is the best protection against the highly contagious and easily transmittable virus.
