From Mexican wrestlers to goblins to a feminist Juliet to Tom Waits on found instruments, the 40th anniversary of Calgary’s High Performance Rodeo has something for everyone. Festival producer Oliver Armstrong doesn’t mind if you think some of the shows are weird. “We lean into weird, for sure, experimental, but it also has to be accessible. We want people to enjoy themselves,” Armstrong told CTV News. From now until the end of January the festival will showcase more than thirty productions. “We really do try to have a wide spectrum of variety and that comes down to the genre too,” Armstrong said. He recommends checking out the One Yellow Rabbit website to find a show that appeals to you.
