Lethbridge man considering purchasing pup with lottery win

A Lethbridge man says he might use money he won on the lottery to buy a dog.

Shaimus Tolman won $100,000 on the March 14 Western 649 and Extra draw.

Tolman purchased his ticket from Gas N’ More on Gershaw Drive SW in Medicine Hat and won by matching the last six digits: 6740582.

He says it took him a while to check his ticket.

I was in bed sleeping and randomly thought about checking,” he said. “I went to the [Lotto Spot] app and checked them... I was half asleep and thought it said $10.”

“I screenshotted it and sent it to my friend to double-check and she insisted we take it to the store to be certain it was truly a $100,000 win,” he added.

Aside from perhaps getting a dog, Tolman isn’t sure what he’ll do with his winning.

“I’m still thinking of what to do with it, but right now it feels like a rush,” he said.
