One man faces charges after a CTrain argument that led to two people being shot Saturday night. Police say they responded to Victoria Park/Stampede LRT station just after 8 p.m. Saturday night for reports that an argument between three people on a CTrain emptied out onto the platform, where one person pulled a gun and shot the two others they had been arguing with. The shooter then fled the station, police arrested him downtown without incident. Two people were transported by EMS to hospital, one in stable condition and the other in life-threatening condition. Police later issued an update on the victims saying they had received medical treatment and been upgraded to stable condition. Mostafa Jafari, 25, faces several charges including aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent. “Brazen acts of violence like this have no place in Calgary and have a lasting impact on the community,” says Calgary Police Service Acting Staff Sgt. Corey Der. “By needlessly putting members of the public at risk, the offender demonstrated a complete disregard for the safety of others. He will be held accountable for his actions.” Jafari remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
