Doughnut shop Krispy Kreme is returning to Calgary, with a new location set to open next month. The shop will host its grand opening on Tuesday, June 3. The new store is located at 9629 Macleod Trail S.W. “After years of requests from local fans, Krispy Kreme is thrilled to return to Calgary, bringing its melt-in-your-mouth original glazed doughnuts and signature hot light experience to southern Alberta,” the company said in a Thursday news release. The new location is set to feature a menu of freshly made doughnuts, coffee and specialty beverages. It will also have a drive-thru. On its opening day, Krispy Kreme will be offering a “Golden Ticket” to the first 12 guests in line that will get them one free dozen original glazed doughnuts every month for a year. Free original glazed doughnuts will also be offered throughout the day, along with other “exciting surprises.” Doors open at 7 a.m.
