A detached garage in Marlborough Park was destroyed in a fire on Thursday morning. The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to a home on Manora Crescent N.E. at 5 a.m. Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage. The fire was extinguished, but officials say the structure was destroyed. A vehicle parked next to the garage was also damaged and a power line was also knocked down. The garages on either side sustained minor damage. The CFD said an adjacent home was temporarily evacuated but was not damaged in the incident. The residents were allowed to return home later. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
