Cavalry score late to salvage 1-1 draw against FC Supra

Cavalry FC and FC Supra fought to a 1-1 draw Saturday night in Laval.

Cavalry FC didn’t do much right for most of the night, but hung around long enough to battle FC Supra to a 1-1 draw Saturday night in Laval, Quebec.

Scoring opportunities were far and few between in a scoreless effort until the 80th minute, when Sissoko converted a cross from Mlah to put FC Supra ahead by a goal late.

However, in the 88th minute, with time running out, Caniggia Elva took a corner kick from Tobias Warschewski, heading the ball past goalkeeper Milli to give Cavalry FC a 1-1 draw.

The single point, coupled with Forge FC’s loss in Vancouver, moved Cavalry FC to within one point of first place.

That sets the stage for a showdown at ATCO Field next Saturday, when Cavalry FC will host Forge at 3 p.m.

FC Supra remained six points out of a playoff spot.
