The Canada Strong pass will be returning next year. The 2026 federal budget includes a renewal of the pass for the summer of 2027, offering free admission to Parks Canada sites, and savings on VIA Rail trips. Also added this year: national museums will be permanently free for Canadians under 25 years old. The federal government said visits to Parks Canada sites have increased by 13 per cent. But it has also put pressure on some communities, with Banff’s mayor saying they’ve seen a climb in vehicle traffic during the summer.
