The beginning of this week will be pleasant around the Calgary area with temperatures slightly warmer than average. A ridge of high pressure situated over the west will produce a stable weather pattern with highs above 20 C and lows around 10 C. Rain is likely in southern British Columbia on Wednesday with some of that precipitation moving over the Rockies and potentially falling along the foothills. In Calgary, the wind will be light on Monday and Tuesday with stronger wind speeds possible in the southeast and eastern portions of the province where the western side of a low-pressure system in Saskatchewan edges into Alberta. A couple of low-pressure systems in the north Pacific will track south and east along the coast over the next couple of days before moving into Alberta by the end of the week. The Labour Day long weekend will include some instability, overcast conditions and slightly cooler temperatures, including highs around 19 C. Rain is possible in Calgary for the end of the long weekend with precipitation totals higher along the foothills.
