The Calgary Internatonal Film Festival needs Aeroplan points to bring filmmakers to the 2025 event.

The Calgary International Film Festival wants your Aeroplan points to help bring filmmakers to it.

The popular annual exhibition issued a call for Aeroplan points Sunday in a media release, where it explained that in March, every point donated to its Aeroplan Points Campaign will “bring us one step closer to welcoming these talented filmmakers.

“They are the heartbeat of the festival,” they added, “and their presence elevates every screening, panel and conversation.”

The points will go towards helping cover the travel and accommodations for filmmakers from Toronto, Los Angeles, London and beyond.

The festival hopes to bring 50 filmmakers to the 2025 event.

In 2024, the fest was able to bring in director Alfonso Maiorana and musician Suzie Vinnick, the creators of Goddess of Slide: The Forgotten Story of Ellen McIlwaine, a documentary about the guitar legend who lived her last 20 years in Calgary.
