A Calgary daycare has had its licensing changed over “significant safety concerns” with the supervision of younger children, the province said Friday. A news release says Zebra Crossing Academy, located in Mahogany, has been placed on a probationary licence after “a number” of non-compliances with provincial standards. According to the release, the province has also temporarily reduced the program’s licensed capacity and revoked its ability to care for children under three. The move will affect 82 spaces. Zebra Crossing Academy’s probationary licence will expire on Jan. 21, 2026. “If the licensed child-care program is unable to return to compliance during the probationary period, the suspended licence expires and is not reinstated,” the province explained.
