A fast-growing American cookie shop has a location in our region and the doors are now open. Crumbl welcomed the community to the north Barrie store on Bayfield Street at the its grand opening on Friday. Many Barrie residents wanted to make sure they were first in line to get in on giveaways and prizes for the first 100 customers, which included a raffle to win free cookies for a year. Crumbl Barrie owner Hamed Faizi tells CTV News a lineup formed at the store starting at 7 a.m. He’s particularly thrilled about opening a store in Barrie. “Barrie is my number one choice and I’ve always liked Barrie. There’s something about Barrie that I always wanted to have a business here,” Faizi says. “Just being here makes me happy. Opening up Crumbl here is just extraordinary and I’m so happy with the fact that people are excited about this. It’s a good feeling.” The franchise is known for its oversized cookies and rotating weekly flavours that come in signature pink boxes. Crumbl also does delivery and catering. Featured this week are the white drop cookie ft. Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Crème, a raspberry cheesecake, Biscoff ice cream cookie, cinnamon roll cookie, chocolate peanut butter brownie ft. Reese’s pieces and a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. Finally, the Make-A-Wish Canada cookie is also on the menu to support children with life-changing wishes who are living with critical illnesses. Always in stock are the pink sugar cookie and, of course, the classic chocolate chip cookie. The business began when American co-founders set out on a mission to find the key ingredients needed to bake the perfect chocolate chip cookie. And the franchise has since grown across the U.S., crossing the border into Canada and around the world. The 400 Bayfield Street location is open Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to midnight.
