Calgary police say the first of two vehicles involved in a dangerous situation earlier this week sped off as officers approached. It happened Monday around 9:05 p.m. in the 100 block of Del Rio Place N.E. Officers were checking out reported suspicious behaviour around a vehicle. Police say two people fled in the vehicle, a grey Volkswagen Jetta, which turned out to be stolen. Police called in a helicopter to track it. “The driver continued to drive dangerously, travelling through red lights and nearly causing several collisions,” police said in a release issued Friday. According to police, the fleeing pair ditched the Jetta somewhere along Centre Street North and got into a Ford F‑150 that pulled up alongside it. Police say the truck then became the getaway vehicle and that its driving “became increasingly dangerous.” “Due to the risk to the public, officers deployed a tire deflation device,” police said. “The truck came to a stop in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore located at 3575 20th Ave. N.E. “Three occupants of the truck, two men and a woman, exited the vehicle and entered the store.” Officers arrested a woman and two men in the store. Police say search warrants were executed on both vehicles. Police say two airsoft guns, 14.1 grams of methamphetamine, multiple bank cards and an identification card were seized as a result. Charges laid Adrienne Elizabeth Visser, 29, is charged with: Matthew Lee Grouette, 39, is charged with: Lane Cole Zimmer, 63, is charged with: Visser was scheduled to appear in court Friday, while Grouette is set for court July 7 and Zimmer is due June 30.
