More than 32,000 units of an interactive toy have been recalled in Canada as parts of it have been deemed a choking hazard for young children. The Esjay Toddler Busy Board Montessori Toys, in blue with dinosaurs, include red small parts on the second page that can detach and pose a choking hazard to children under three years of age, a Wednesday recall stated. According to the notice, 32,340 affected units were sold in Canada between August 2023 and September 2026. As of Sept. 22, the company has not received any reports of incident or injury in Canada. The recall described the toy as made of blue felt with a carrying handle, an elastic cord and button closure. The front features cartoon dinosaurs and the back has 26 small squares, each corresponding to a letter of the alphabet. Each square also contains a cartoon animal. The busy board has five pages in total. The page with the red small parts is the second page. A similar recall was posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in September, which states that about 276,000 units are affected. The U.S. recall says the product was sold on Amazon.com from March 2023 to July 2026 for US$18-$30. Consumers should immediately stop using the product and unzip the page with the red small parts, write “RECALLED” on both sides of the page and throw it away, the U.S. and Canadian recalls stated. A photo of the disposed page should be emailed to Esjay U.S. at esjay-service@outlook.com to receive a replacement page.
