Four people, including two 15-year-olds, face charges in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Georgina that resulted in the seizure of a loaded firearm, cash and suspected methamphetamine and crack cocaine. On June 15, York Regional Police (YRP) launched an investigation into a commercial break-and-enter in the area of Lake Drive North and Crestwood Drive in Georgina. “During the investigation, a suspect was identified and linked to a group suspected of trafficking drugs in Georgina,” YRP stated in a news release. On Thursday this week, officers watched a suspect “who appeared to be armed” enter a vehicle with someone they believe was a drug trafficker. They conducted a traffic stop and took the three occupants into police custody. Following the arrests, officers executed a search warrant at a motel in Georgina, where they arrested a fourth suspect accused in the break-and-enter. A 24-year-old man from Newmarket and the two teens, both males from Oshawa, are charged with multiple drug trafficking and weapons-related offences, among others. A 28-year-old man from Georgina is charged with two counts of break-and-enter with intent and disguise with intent.
