Two people face criminal charges in connection with the mysterious disappearance of an Alliston man, who vanished two years ago and is now presumed dead. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation in July 2023 after Derek Perry went missing. Investigators said they were concerned for the 34-year-old man’s well-being, adding they believed he disappeared sometime in mid-June 2023. Police issued several appeals to the public for help solving the case, seeking information on Perry’s whereabouts. After a two-year investigation, police arrested Eddy Gagnon, 30, and Krystal Carleton, 36, both of New Tecumseth. Gagnon faces charges of second-degree murder and indignity to a dead body, while Carleton is charged with indignity to a dead body and being an accessory after the fact to murder. CTV News reached out to the OPP for more information, but was told that due to the sensitive nature of the investigation and to preserve its integrity, no further details could be shared, including whether a body had been located. The OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking additional information from the public.
