A 27-year-old man from Toronto died following a motorcycle collision on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte, north of Line 15, in what witnesses describe as a road rage-related incident. Provincial police say the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday. Emergency crews rushed to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls about a person lying on the road and a motorcycle nearby. Officers say they arrived to find a man with fatal injuries. According to OPP, witnesses described a “road rage-type altercation” involving a pickup truck and motorcycle before the crash happened. “The involved pickup truck was initially accounted for,” police stated in a Tuesday release, adding the truck’s driver remained at the location. “The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested,” police added. A 37-year-old man from Bracebridge is charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, obstructing a peace officer, and failing or refusing to comply with demand causing death. He was also charged with operating a vehicle without insurance, driving while suspended and driving without a current validated permit. The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team attended the scene to help with the investigation, which police say is ongoing.
