A 41-year-old motorcyclist is facing a string of charges after a traffic stop in Barrie over the weekend. Officers say they were patrolling the Mapleview Drive West area on Saturday, when they noticed a motorcycle with a licence plate that wasn’t properly mounted. According to Barrie police, the way the plate had been installed obstructed its letters and numbers. Officers stopped the motorcycle and determined the licence plate was not authorized for that vehicle. Police say the rider was also unable to provide the motorcycle’s permit and told officers the bike was uninsured. The 41-year-old man was charged with obstructing a plate, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, failing to surrender a motor vehicle licence plate and operating a motor vehicle on a highway without insurance. The bike was towed from the scene.
