Grab a good book or podcast and hunker down for the day; it’s going to be nasty out there. Environment Canada has issued both a snow squall warning and advisory for central Ont. Snow squall warning is in effect for Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Midland, Coldwater & Owen Sound A weather advisory with 5 to 10 cm of snow, poor visibility is expected in Innisfil, New Tecumseth, Angus, Newmarket, Georgina Barrie and area are expecting flurries and blowing snow could amount of 10 to 15 centimetres. With the wind gusting between 40 and 60 kilometres per hour, local blowing snow is going to make travel treacherous. A wind chill of -17C Friday morning and a balmy -10C later today, suggests snow shovelling should be left until mid-afternoon. Tonight we’ll see some flurries that don’t amount to much depth, and the wind will drop down to 15 kilometres per hour and we’ll experience a low of -9C with wind chill near -14C.
