Road rage incident involving motorcycles leads to charge: Police

A pick-up truck driver is facing charges after allegedly being involved in a road rage incident with a group of motorcyclists.

On May 13, Barrie police say they received an online traffic complaint with video evidence of the incident that happened on May 12 at around 2:30 p.m.

Police say the video showed a pick-up truck swerving towards a motorcycle riding on Bayfield Street near Hammer Street. There was a verbal interaction between another motorcycle rider and the pick-up truck driver, according to police. Following the interaction, the truck allegedly swerved dangerously towards the motorcycle.

The pick-up truck driver is a 56-year-old Springwater Township man and has been charged with dangerous operation.

No injuries were reported.

Police say the motorcyclist came forward to police on Wednesday.
