Provincial police are investigating a vehicle that was found submerged in a river in the Kawartha Lakes region Saturday morning. In a social media post on Saturday, City of Kawartha Lakes OPP shared an image of an upside-down vehicle that was completely submerged underwater. According to a City of Kawartha Lakes OPP news release, detachment officers and fire crews responded the scene along Talbot River Road east of Kirkfield Road in Kirkfield at around 9:30 a.m. that morning. The area was closed as the vehicle was removed from the river Saturday afternoon. In an email to CTV News, OPP confirmed that no occupants were found in the vehicle after being searched by their underwater search and rescue team. The incident, however, remains under investigation, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact City of Kawartha Lakes OPP.
