The body recovered from Barrie’s Tyndale Beach has been identified as a missing 61-year-old Barrie woman, police say. Officers responded to Tyndale Park around 2 p.m. Thursday after reports of a body in the bay. Investigators say the death is not considered suspicious and have ruled out “foul play.” As police responded, children attending a day camp at Tyndale Beach were escorted to Dock Road, where City of Barrie staff notified parents to pick them up. The area around Tyndale Park and the beach was closed while police conducted their investigation through the evening. Barrie Fire and Emergency Services confirmed it was notified of the incident but firefighters were not required to assist.
