Emergency crews were called to a fire in Gravenhurst Saturday evening that resulted in a response that lasted several hours. In a 7:15 p.m. social media post, Bracebridge OPP reported that Bethune Drive North was closed between Winewood Avenue East and Industrial Drive due to a structure fire. An OPP public information advisor (PIA) confirmed to CTV News that the fire has been extinguished and no injuries were reported, but an investigation remains ongoing. In a 4:17 a.m. update Sunday morning, Bracebridge OPP confirmed that the area had reopened. Jared Cayley, the town’s fire chief said that the incident happened at a mixed office or garage type of building and that its contents were on fire. “All three Gravenhurst stations responded. We were aided by Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes fire departments,” confirmed Cayley in an email to CTV News. “Took several hours to extinguish.” The incident is now being investigated by the Ontario Fire Marshal.
