The Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) held its annual stationary bike challenge on Saturday in Springwater. The mission of the foundation is to assist families financially if their child is diagnosed with cancer. Multiple teams gathered at Springwater Provincial Park to hop on stationary bikes and raise money. The foundation set a goal of $35,000 for the event. Ava Patrick’s family was supported by TRF when she was going through her journey and proud of the support for the foundation Saturday. “TRF was here through my journey and that made all the difference so if it can make a difference for other people that’s truly amazing,” said Patrick. Gavin Morrison, master of ceremonies for the event said the atmosphere for the event is one of the best he has been apart of. “The atmosphere is always wild here everyone brings their ‘A’ game for this which is fantastic to see,” said Morrison. “Year in and year out and it really does feel like a big family.” Fundraisers like the stationary bike raise money for families with children who are diagnosed with cancer. “The unforeseen costs, things like mortgages, car payments, stuff families might not be able to keep up on,” said Morrison. This is the fourth annual stationary bike fundraiser, and the event keeps on growing year over year. “We have been working with the Tyler Robinson foundation as a family for a little over 10 years and they have supported families in our local area for the same amount time giving back almost double anything we have donated to the charity,” said Morrison. According to the TRF more than 85 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to a family in need from the community.
