Provincial police report that a family was safely rescued Saturday afternoon after their canoe overturned in the waterways of Earl Rowe Provincial Park. According to a social media post by Nottawasaga OPP, emergency crews responded to a report of an overturned canoe just after 3 p.m. at the provincial park. Police confirmed that all five family members were wearing their lifejackets and that they were brought safely to shore with no injuries. “As the boating season continues, let this serve as an important reminder: Life jackets save lives,” said an OPP media officer in the post.
