Police arrested one allegedly armed person following reports of an individual making threats and spitting on people in the early morning hours on Wednesday at an apartment complex in Orillia. According to provincial police, officers arrived to the West Street north building around midnight and noticed one person with a firearm. "Officers quickly de-escalated the situation and safely brought the individual into custody," OPP stated. Officers allegedly seized a Glock handgun, ammunition, $825 in cash, and Xanax. The 24-year-old man accused in the incident faces a total of 15 charges, including unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and prohibited ammunition, uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, possession of property obtained by crime, and obstructing a peace officer. He also faces court-related offences. Police say he has been held in custody.
