Stevenson Memorial Hospital is calling on knitters and crocheters to put their crafting skills to work for a good cause. The Alliston hospital’s Auxiliary is inviting community volunteers to create handmade items such as baby blankets, hats, and finger puppets to help bring comfort and smiles to its youngest patients.

“Calling all crafters!” the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary announced in a recent social media post. “We’re looking for community volunteers to knit or crochet items like baby blankets, hats, and finger puppets to bring comfort and smiles to our youngest patients.”

The hospital has a long tradition of community involvement through its Auxiliary, which supports various programs and patient care initiatives. The latest appeal focuses on providing small, handmade items that can make hospital stays a little easier for children and infants receiving care.

Volunteers are asked to contact the Auxiliary before starting any new projects to confirm which items are most needed and to learn about size and material guidelines. This ensures that all donated items meet hospital standards for comfort and safety.
