If you have ever wondered what happens inside the closed doors of some of Barrie’s most unique buildings, Saturday is your chance to see inside. Doors Open Barrie showcases the rich history and architecture of our city and celebrates the places that make Barrie special by offering free access to sites of interest around the city. The Barrie Police Station, and Barrie Fire Hall are two of the 18 buildings that will open their doors from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday. The program was launched in 2002 to create access, awareness and excitement about the province’s heritage and it provides unique opportunities to explore and enjoy some of the most interesting places in Ontario cities, towns and villages.
