Provincial police are investigating what they are describing as a ‘serious’ crash in Dufferin County early Sunday morning that resulted in both drivers getting hospitalized. According to Dufferin OPP, officers were called to County Road 18 (Airport Road) near County Road 21 in Mulmur Township at around 4:30 a.m. for reports of a serious crash between a minivan and sedan. Police say the sedan driver sustained serious injuries and was eventually sent to a Toronto area trauma centre, while the minivan driver was hospitalized locally with injuries of unknown severity. County Road 18 was closed between County Road 21 and 20 Sideroad for several hours as investigators continued working on the scene. The OPP confirms its Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) team is involved.
