Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) will be sharing a donation of more than $65,000 this year, following McHappy Day 2026. The annual charity event raises funds for local hospital systems and funds healthcare projects thanks to donated proceeds from local McDonald’s restaurants. WATCH: Thousands of volunteers lend a hand for McDonald’s McHappy Day – CTVNews This year, the money will be split between RVH’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and Ronald McDonald House Charities in Toronto. “This support means so much to families in our NICU,” said Natalie Sherrit, Manager of Paediatrics and NICU at RVH. “We’re heading into our busiest season for births, contributions like this help ensure our tiniest patients and their families receive the care, comfort, and support they need close to home,” Sherrit said. According to RVH, more than 2,000 babies are born at hospital in Barrie each year and of them, roughly one in 14 will require specialized care in the NICU.
